Visit by the High Sheriff

On Tuesday 11 October the College received a visit from the High Sheriff of Leicestershire. The High Sheriff toured the school and then met with the Student Council Executive, two students in Year 11 who were also part of the award winning Young Enterprise Team last year and three other students. Senior members of staff and visitors listened to presentations about the Student Councils previous achievements and the wide range of opportunities available to students at Sir Jonathan North.

It was very interesting to speak to the High Sheriff and learn about his roles in the community such as his part in the Leicestershire charity Crime Beat. The charity is a great opportunity for children of primary school age to learn about safety as he works closely alongside the police force and fire brigade. The visit ended with a light buffet lunch and a chance for the students to talk to the visitors about their experiences at school.
